Beginner Agility Thursday's at 6:30 pm

Service Description

The class starts on August 29th and lasts seven weeks. This introductory class is tailored for dogs over eight months old, introducing them to the exciting world of agility with confidence and enthusiasm. To participate, dogs must be friendly and comfortable working around both people and other dogs. This is an excellent way to build a bond with your dog and do something you both enjoy. The class will allow you to build age-appropriate foundational skills vital to agility success. Tight turns, including full weave skills or any obstacle where a dog could fall from a height, should not be attempted until growth plates are closed. This occurs earlier in smaller breeds, and large and giant breeds may take 18 months to 2 years to fully close. Mental age and confidence are also factors in how long and what to practice. Your instructor, Hannah Burton, is a seasoned professional with nearly two decades of experience in dog training. Her journey began at the age of 14 when she started working with dogs and participating in the sport of dog agility with her Australian Shepherd. Since then, she has continually honed her skills and knowledge in agility, obedience, and basic pet behavior modification. She began her career in teaching in 2011. Hannah has competed in agility with several breeds, earning multiple Championship titles within different organizations and placing at local, Regional, and National events. Her experience with agility has come from years of being an instructor, participating, self-study, and learning from several top trainers in the country. Outside of agility, Hannah has worked under many well-known dog trainers and behaviorists in Central Ohio to refine her obedience and basic pet behavior skills. She has a strong passion for building confidence in dogs and helping their owners gain the knowledge they need for better communication.
